SXSW Film Festival – Real Tips For Real People #1

030711First of a five-part series

SXSW 2011 runs from March 11-19 in rockin’ Austin, Texas. I’ve attended 52 film festivals since the start of 2006 and there isn’t another town in America that hosts events like this with as much spirit and unbridled enthusiasm.

Readers of this blog know that my annual coverage of SXSW gushes with accolades for the venues there — arguably the best in America. Many of my Top Picks from all festivals over the past few years (of over 800 in total) came out of this film festival. The event hasn’t changed much from its homespun early days and I believe it is a required trip for independent film lovers.
